Oct., 2004 This is Hallie pulling staples from
those firring strips. Imagine keeping your arms above your head
for hours at a time. Cheerfully too. |
This room had a closet built under the stairs to the cupola on the
paneled wall. Since the stairs will not be enclosed, but open, we
closed up the opening to a closet. |
Dry wall looks so clean |
More drywall. |
Cousin Bill and his wife Paula came from San Antonio, Texas to help.
Bill is inspecting the framing for the tray ceiling. |
More framing on the ceiling. |
Dry walling on the tray ceiling. Mike and Bill did all this a
day. |
Bill gets clean up duty. |
Ceiling is looking good. |
Gary (brother), Lynn (sister-in-law), Kristen (adorable 4-yr old
niece), Macy (chocolate lab) and Lulabelle (new puppy, also a lab?) came
to visit. They brought us this bed all the way from North
Carolina. Then Lynn "distressed" it. |
No help too young to put to slave labor. |
BEAUTIFUL! |
Mudded the joints in the drywall. |
Bedroom 2 with primer. |
More primer. |
Here's Karol to paint. |
First the ceiling from a ladder. |
Now with a extension pole on the roller. |
Now the purple paint. The color has a fancy name, but can't
remember it. Something to do with grapes. (see a theme,
here?) |
Just like on Home Improvement! Voila! It's done.
Thank you Karol! |
The ceiling in this room is really pretty. |
Molding around door is white now. |
Jean's Dad doing the wiring. Thank you Dad! We
have light! |
This view does not tell the tale of the floor. Hours and hours
and days and nights, sanding, filling, sanding and laying on
polyurethane. It sure looks nice. |
